Awful and it was on Monday night too. Both will be reported.
As an aside, why is it always at nighttime?

It wasn't as bad but was still smelling when I went to the 'Recycling Centre' in the afternoon, but you're right something happens early evening into the night time?

This was predicted and communicated. May be 2 - 3 weeks while some work is done

To quote from the EA's Westmill Bulletin:

'Biffa needs to extend the capping layer from Cell 1 around the corner of the valley as part of the restoration work. This will enhance the long term gas capture in the area and lead to a visual improvement of the area, especially form the A10 site.
The site hopes to start with the preparatory work around the 26th of February, however this work is very much weather dependent.
The works will involve levelling out the ground and slopes and starting to expose the edge of the old landfill liner and attaching it to the cap.
Even though the work will only cut into the cover soils, and will not expose any old waste, it might create some odours.
Biffa will temporarily cover the exposed liner with clay to minimise any odour release. The project is planned to take about 8 weeks, including 2-3 weeks of potential odorous works. This schedule is weather dependent.'

I was walking up Kingsway (Kingshill) tonight and there was a terrible stench which got worse when I was about half way up; is this because of the site? I actually retched because it was so disgusting. At the top of the hill it didn't seem too bad.

Is 'weather dependent' their euphemism for 'we can take as long as we bl@ody well like'? Excuse my cynicism but their public relations dept do seem to be economical with the truth at the best of times!
