Can I just remind drivers that excessive speed down Musley Hill does NOT give you the right of way. You may notice that you are on the ' wrong ' side of the road and therefore it is your responsibility to give way to traffic coming up the hill.
Also, do not expect other traffic to drive up the footway unless you are prepared to pay for any damage caused to tyres and/or suspension.

Re: Musley Hill
Indeed. You're s'posed give way to traffic coming up the hill anyway.
Unfortunately - it all comes down to politeness and people ain't got any no more.

Re: Musley Hill
Generally if coming up I turn off and go up high oak and only use Musley for going down.
It would make more sense to make that a sort of one way system.
Much easier then.

Re: Musley Hill
As residents or users, I am sure we could come up with a solution. Unfortunately it would be for EHDC to decide and as we all know they do not like Ware.
The proposed building of houses to the North of Ware could well make things worse. We shall see.
The speeding driver was fortunate that he met my wife and not a 395 coming up the hill, although thinking about it, perhaps a 395 would have been a better bet.............

Change the entry into the end of collett road to allow entry from traffic coming down Musley Hill as well as up.The Masked Woler wrote:Unless you happen to want to go down HORPat-H wrote:Generally if coming up I turn off and go up high oak and only use Musley for going down.

One way along that initial end of collett road until the end of High oak road.
Make Homefield road one way West to east. So basically High Oak Collect road Musley hill and Homefield form a one way system.
If you need to go down HOR you go along Homefield, down Musley into Collett road.
Make the whole lot 20MPH speed limt (you can do that without road calming now.)
The only real work is opening the end of collett road up to the downhill traffic . The rest is just signs.

You can make any road 20mph, but without enforcement.......
Re: Musley Hill
That applies to all laws and rules.ware_resident wrote:You can make any road 20mph, but without enforcement.......
But many if not most will comply and for that that don't should an accident happen their excess speed will count against them.
