Level Crossing Closure

Re: Level Crossing Closure
OK, I'm wiping the egg off my face as I have been guilty of assuming that the headlines I read for the Mercury were actually based on fact - stupid I know! But I have received the following reply from Network Rail which should put paid to all the rumours:
"Thank you for contacting Network Rail regarding your views on Ware Level Crossing.
I have spoken to various departments including the level crossings team and our asset team. Both of these confirm that at present there are no plans to close the Ware Station/ Amwell Road level crossing.
I hope that this answers your question.
Yours sincerely
Paul Lennon"
I will try harder next time not to rise to the media hype and check ALL my facts before climbing on my soapbox.

Re: Level Crossing Closure
Though, on the positive side, I've discovered that registry of level crossings, which I could never have imagined!
