Public meeting response
Dear Supporter
We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our supporters who came to the public meeting in Fletcher’s Lea on the 11 March. The official attendance figure was 182 which makes it one of the largest public attended meetings in Ware for years.
The main purpose for the meeting was to gain evidence of public support for the Southern Maltings 'Arts for All' project and to build a database of volunteers, fundraisers and supporters. On the night we had a pressing need for architects or building surveyors to add to our ranks.
We had a fantastic response from all areas, and a design team has now started to draw up plans for an expanded Ware Arts Centre that encompasses the whole of the Southern Maltings.
We also require the additional support of a business planning advisor and an accountant or bookkeeper. If you feel you have this skillset and are in a position to offer your services to the group, please do get in touch.
Online Survey
As part of our evidence building exercise, we have created an online petition which will form part of the business plan. If you haven't already done so, please can you Sign the Petition and share the link with your friends and family. We current have 540 signatures. Let's try and get it to 1000 by the end of April.
Ware Beer Festival
The Ware Beer festival is taking place in the Ware Arts Centre on the Friday 10 and Saturday 11 April. Members from the SMCG will be in attendance distributing leaflets and stickers to those who make a small contribution to our fighting fund.
Join the 'Art for All' Exhibition
We are inviting everyone to take part in our 'Arts for All' exhibition. The aim is to encourage everyone to create, draw, paint, film, sing or photograph something that features the Southern Maltings. Pictures. videos and photographs can be uploaded to our Facebook page and will appear on the Southern Maltings website. Our hope is that the first exhibition in the new Southern Maltings Arts Centre will feature all the work submitted to the project. Submitted work will also form part of our business plan. It'll be an opportunity to showcase the many talented artists, musicians and performers that we have supporting the Southern Maltings Community Group and will continue to use the building once we have gained control. Submit your work on the Southern Maltings Facebook page.
Thank you all for your continued support.
