Was in the High Street yesterday and saw this going by, an lovely sight:

Yes ,agree lovely sight. It stopped outside the pub half way up Watton Rd. Not sure whether it was for water for the engine or a beer for the driver, or both. Ghost of Fred Dibnah!

It was for water. Saw them connecting to the mains via a stop tap. Mind you it looked thirsty work.....

It is thirsty work I used to crew a John Fowler BB1 ploughing engine and an Aveling and Porter steam Roller, we used to go everywhere by road as this one is and came through Ware several times on our way to and from the Great Amwell Steam Rally. Happy days!

Reminds me of the old days of the Great Amwell Steam Rally.

Often used to get caught behind huge queues of traffic behind a stately steam vehicle over the days before/after the event..
