Baldock Street road works

Haven't yet seen what they've done at the junction with Kingsway but what's the verdict with Charvil's roundabout????

I think the Kingsway junction is an improvement as the road is narrower and the increased pavement width improves visibility. However..... quite how the changes at the 'Charvill's' roundabout will work I don't know. Crossing from the 'Charvill's' side through 2 lanes of traffic when the roundabout is at its usual gridlock seems like a fast track route to A&E in my book, and crossing the other side side with the speed some drivers negotiate the roundabout has always been a tad adventurous. At least the narrowing of the road on that side will help.

I thought they were just making it pretty - never thought about the safety aspect of it!
