New Mayor Elected

The new mayor of Ware is recently elected Councillor Nina Villa.

Cllr.Villa was chosen by fellow councillors at a ceremony in The Priory on the 13th of May. She takes over the role from David Oldridge, who served the civic year 2018-19.

Nina represents Trinity ward on the town council, having been elected earlier this month. She is also chief executive at Stevenage Citizens Advice and has also served as Deputy Chief Executive and Chief of Staff for the Hertfordshire Police & Crime Commissioner.

The role of Mayor is principally a symbolic one, with the post being held for 12 months, and elected by the full town council.
