A man was robbed at knifepoint on a train as it approached Ware station on Sunday.
Police were called just after 4pm after the man got off the train at Ware. The offenders continued on to Hertford East.
Local reports also suggest that there was a knifepoint robbery in Hertford shortly after between 4:30 and 4:45pm.
British Transport police have released a statement about the incident:
At 4.07pm on 21 July, officers were called to Ware station following a report of a knifepoint robbery on board a train. A man had a number of items take by four men who boarded the train at Broxborne station. The suspects remained on the train after the victim left at Ware station.
A number of enquiries are underway including seizing any available CCTV evidence and speaking with witnesses. Anyone who was on board the train and saw what happened is asked to contract BTP by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 323 of 21/07/2019
