Scout post
Does anyone know anything about the Christmas Scout post that we have used for the last few years? I asked in Isabel Hospice shop and they said they had heard nothing - so I guess it is not being done this year.

Re: Ware Recycling and Refuse Centre
We were informed that it was going to be end of October - but then it was found not all the planing docs fully completed!!! So it will be closed as soon as that is all finalised. I understand that January 2019 is the end date but the Council are hoping it will be before that. As an alternative why n...

Re: Variation of a Scam
Oh yes, of course, silly me!! I wonder why I didn't immediately think of Copyright Law etc etc at the time. I guess I'm just glad that everyone on Ware Online is a legal eagle and that neither they, nor any friends, family, or neighbours have ever been caught out by a scam nor ever will be when they...

Re: Variation of a Scam
I know it's extremely unlikely - but we had no internet service and therefore no email - so after reporting a fault and it taking several hours to fix, it is possibly feasible that they might telephone to check everything was OK.

Variation of a Scam
Just thought I'd warn people of a variation of the computer maintenance scam that we got yesterday. I received a phone call from "your ISP" saying a problem with your computer and internet connection. Now we had a few hours loss of service with VM the day before so I said thank you, it has...

Re: Flying over the Bourne today
It certainly looks like a Red Kite without the "V" tail, so I looked it up and Juveniles can have what looks like a straight tail. So I think that's definitely what it is. We often see a pair of them circling in our area (never been too sure what they find to eat though).

Re: Returning to Ware
Last I heard Waitrose had withdrawn their planning application for Van Hages because some residents up there got our MP to ask for a Judicial Review - and no-one can afford that. The old Cinema/then shopping arcade/then nightclub was subject to a planning application to turn it into flats - but I'm ...

HSBC Closing
I've just had a letter from HSBC saying the Ware branch will be closing on Friday 8 July. I must admit that, like many others I suspect, I rarely used the local branch. However it will leave a hole in the High Street.

Re: Shop on the corner of Bowling Rd / Star Street
I walked past this morning and Elliot Heath, Estate Agents look open for business. I looked online and, so far, they have only 6 properties for sale in Ware. But it's early days. I read their spiel - but there's no indication of why they will shake up the current model of property transfer. So what ...

Re: Ware in The Times
You missed out the delicate fragrance wafting over the town on occasions from the Westmill Dump Scottman! Actually I seem to remember Ware featuring in a top 10 towns list a few years ago. I think that was based on having independent shops in the High Street rather than the usual multiples.
