Re: Bit of fun

In the view from Gladstone Road (behind the hotel) you can see the older building next to the 'modern' red brick hotel rooms.

Re: Bit of fun

You're right - it is the Roebuck Hotel. Just looked on Google street view. If you follow up Baldock Street/Wadesmill road, the images are dated June 2017 and show the nearly completed care home. But if you move the viewpoint to the end of The Bourne you get older images from October 2010 (when Octob...

Re: A602 to Stevenage

Signs are up at the roundabout at the edge of Stevenage stating that Hertford Road (which joins the A602 at the roundabout) and the cycle paths that go under the subways are closed from Monday 11th. The subways have to be relocated for the new junction, so I guess they are starting with this first. ...

They might just be closed for a post-Christmas holiday. Tried to go for a drink in Thundridge on Tuesday night this week and found the Sow & Pigs and Feathers were both shut.

Re: Rose Cottage

From a quick internet search:

C-Tech Machines (Which appears to be a sewing/knitting machine supplier?)
Address: Rose Cottage, 18, Hoe Lane
Postcode/City: SG12 9NU Ware

(accepting of course that the house name might not have been the same in 1929!)
