Re: Flats in Marsh Lane
Hi. I live nearby and saw a guy in the field with a clipboard a month or so ago. I did my duty as a nosey neighbour and enquired. Granted they could have lied but he seemed a nice guy. He said that because the private bridge over the river is too weak for cars now they've had to block it off and bui...

Re: New snooker club?
Thanks! I've walked past that row hundreds of times and never noticed it.

Re: New snooker club?
Hi. Sorry but I know nothing about it other than the same sign. BUT, I was wondering if I could possibly ask you where in Hertford you play and do they have pool there? I have a friend visiting and he wanted to play pool and I didn't know any actual pool places, as opposed to pubs that may have a po...

Re: New Trains and Additional Service at Ware
I genuinely laughed at the life this has taken on since my (innocent) comment that it isn't currently 3 trains an hour. I also think the greatest argument was just the one who (bless em) listed out every minute between 7.01 and 8.01.

Re: New Trains and Additional Service at Ware
7:01am and 7:31am, then next one at 8:01. that's 3 in an hour or i can't count ;) Not really, just a misunderstanding. By "in" an hour I took it to mean within the hour. i.e. 7am-8am. But anyway...it isn't really 3 an hour anyway for the same reason that 11 is 10 more than 1, not 10 more ...

Re: Previous John Gilpin pub
I'm surprised the planners haven't claimed this too to be 'a highly sustainable location transport wise' and applied town centre zone parking guidelines to the new site (as its only a few feet outside). Also watch for the 3 and 4 bed homes suddenly being marketed as 4 or 5 bed homes and priced acco...

Re: New Trains and Additional Service at Ware
Just a point to the poster below, we only have 2 trains an hour to Liverpool St during rush hour (i.e. trains that could get you to work by 9:30 at the latest). 7:01am and 7:31am, then next one at 8:01. After that for some reason is the 8:21 to Stratford and not Liverpool St (and whilst you can chan...

Re: Previous John Gilpin pub
I live nearby and so monitored it closely (including objecting despite the fact it was clearly going to go ahead). There are in fact 2 spaces accessible only from Gilpin Road (and only IN REVERSE GEAR!!) which will bung up that narrow road at certain times, as well as inadequate provision for the ot...
