Re: The Sea Tree - now open & recruiting

Didn't the owners of the Vine/Vine Shop also have/had a pub in Cambridge?
Maybe there is a hidden link between these two great places ;-)
There's called the A10

Re: Building Started at Kingshill Shops

It looks even worse when looking across the car park from Kingsway. Maybe the new building is intended to fit in with the houses on the opposite side of The Green, because it does not work alongside the shops/flats at all.

Re: Gilpin Closing

Which is better... a MuckyMullen pub or a closed down pub? (There's only one way to sort this one out...)

Even if the rumours are true, we won't escape just yet:

New Rose & Crown
Cannon Tavern (assuming it is sold as going concern)
Saracen's Head
Spread Eagle

Re: Wengeo Lane and Chauncy field

I think there are two different stories here... The land between Fanshawe Pool and Wengeo Lane/Trapstyles (the bit at the bottom of the slope) is being sold by Chauncy to fund the building of a new sports hall - see first paragraph of recent Chauncy newsletter here:

Re: The Roebuck Hotel

There might be a security guard on site to ward off metal thieves and other unwanted intruders - which might explain the lights being on in.

Re: European Elections

Surprised you haven't had anything at all - we've had leaflets from the Tories, UKIP, Labour and the Greens - not sure we've seen anything from the Lib Dems though. I think it depends on whether they think you are an 'untapped' vote worth targeting. My other half has had leaflets in the post from a...

Re: Fanshawe closing again!

The reason for the pool closing early on Monday 14th may be because Ware Swimming Club are hosting the Ware/Wulfrath exchange gala that evening and need to set up.

Re: Evening car parking

I can park on the High Street for free in the evenings after 6:30 pm, can't I?
Or in Tesco's!

The Mercury article states that the council will spend £30,000 on consultation, new signs and re-programming the machines. I'm sure they know what they're doing. ;)
