Re: Are we missing a Gazebo?
This is the one I think, the one with four windows. That is appalling! Whether it is a Gazebo or not, obviously of the same era, it is/was part of the visual picture of that part of the riverside. In this more enlightened time (as opposed to the 1960's) would it be acceptable to demolish a period b...

Re: Firework Display
The draft District Plan has not yet been adopted. Even if and when it is, it will be up to a developer to submit a planning application and get approval, which for 3000 homes is a big project. The fireworks are safe for the foreseeable future. True, but it is common knowledge at least and I'm prett...

Thanks for the Summer real ale festival
Not sure if I missed this, but haven't seen anything on here about the Summer real ale festival last weekend. I'd just like to say thanks to Kevin Phillips Bong and all the other many helpers who put this event on, it was a fantastic day and a credit to Ware. We were invited to play at the event and...

Re: Wine Lodge
I am all for local businesses to do well but have noted more chairs and tables have been purchased (cardboard boxes left by church gates) and spread between Jacobys and The Wine Lodge. Jacobys used to leave a walk way from church but now neither Jacobys or The Wine Lodge is passable for pedestrians...

Re: Wine Lodge
I believe they need planning permission to have chairs and tables outside the building, so the best people to approach if you have concerns are the planning department.

Re: 50 more houses, is Park Road not busy enough ?
Now, can we keep on topic please and not talk about Asda in the 50 houses n Park Road thread? If you want to talk about Asda, use either the existing thread or start a new one please. I suggest it is on topic - the op says this "A dead-end road, grid locked traffic at certain times of the day,...

Re: 50 more houses, is Park Road not busy enough ?
There were never more than a tiny handful of objectors and all of their objections were considered at length including by civil servants for the Secretary of State and found to be completely groundless. So, no, it wasn't controversial despite the fact that a couple of nimbys objected. Shall we try ...

Re: ASDA at last but don't forget the local shops.
I had a word with the butcher on Sat nd he hasn't noticed a significant drop in shoppers, that's great news. Not sure about the other shops though.

Did anyone go to the consultation presentation? I've had a look at the detailed proposals and made my comments, if you want to make comments the consultation is now open:

Re: ASDA at last but don't forget the local shops.
I've used the Kingshill shops for years and they are much better than the supermarkets in my view. The butcher is helpful and sells much better meat than any from the supermarkets and the veg shop is a lot cheaper than Tesco. I've been to Asda once since it opened and not again, the parking is awful...
