I was caught in the backlog of traffic. I was on High Oak Road so could not see what the problem was. Eventually I turned round and went via Kingsway. Could a solution be only allowing parking on one side of the road as happens on many roads?

The road was open by mid-afternoon. I was talking to a friend who lives in Westmill last night and apparently the tree has been in a dangerous position for some time. I returned from Stevenage at about 7:00 p.m. It looked as if I was wise not to stay later. The road, especially at High Cross, was getting very dodgy even then.
