Re: Ware Webcam
Hi Andy. I've done better than that and called them on the phone. A guy called Adam told me that with the introduction of GDPR (protection of data), they were told to take the camera down. No matter of arguing will change their mind. Sorry for the negative response. I've had a think about this and ...

Re: 1500 new homes for Ware
Hold on the District Plan released. https://www.eastherts.gov.uk/article/36418/Holding-Direction-lifted-on-East-Herts-District-Plan Vote on adoption scheduled for 19:00 Tue Oct 23, EHDC Offices. No surprise really. This was only ever about due process IMHO. If it had been called in it would have ef...

Re: 1500 new homes for Ware
Its interesting that the Council are in favour of building on green belt and seemed disappointed that its held up even though the general consensus in Ware (I believe) is that the 1500 houses are not wanted or are there factions who are in favour of the build? Surely attaching a large number of pro...

Re: 1500 new homes for Ware
The Ware NP Committee is Cllr. Alex Curtis (Chairman), Cllr. Mark Pope, Cllr. Stephen Reed from Ware Town Council. They've invited a small number of reps from other organisations. It's not known yet when the kick off meeting will take place. So much for neighbourhood planning being "community ...

Re: Street Life - Tudor Sq
I guess that's the way it works. Though it is somewhat surprising in cases where it's gone to appeal. Is it HCC or EHDC that handles the licensing? Presumably that's separate from the building work and change of use. Licensing is a District function https://www.eastherts.gov.uk/article/34674/Licens...

Re: 1500 new homes for Ware
What do you mean by "beyond the green belt"? It's the term as used by EHDC in the DP eg "Chapter 4 Green Belt and Rural Area Beyond the Green Belt" The London Green Belt boundary comes to an end across parts of East Herts. So while Ware is surrounded by green belt, there's a N-S...

Re: 1500 new homes for Ware
I think "it depends". My understanding is that green belt boundaries can only be amended by the council via a District Plan or by a Site Allocations Development Plan Document. So without a formal decision by the council to extend the boundaries, they HAVE to reject development planning ap...

Re: Local Markets
So our local town councils in Ware and Hertford are allegedly not prepared to take on the responsibility for our local markets, with only Bishops Stortford agreeing to this. Our town markets have been allowed to decline in recent years largely due to lack of publicity and high rents but there is sur...

Re: Cycling-walking, Towpaths, Bridges in Ware-Hertford
Good work. I think the guy I spoke to has it wrong. It wouldn't surprise me that the area immediately around the weir and Ware lock is Environment Agency. Same for the immediate surrounds to the Gauge House and New River. But that the rest of the towpath towards Hertford is C&RT. Given the hist...
