Re: Dickensian Evening

The town was packed tonight with an absolutely brilliant atmosphere. The hats (minus flashing lights) worked a treat. Very well done to Jan Wing who organised it and isn't doing any more. (She wants herb sanity back. Volunteers needed to take over and hopefully have some organising skills). She got ...

Re: Rememberance Service

Some of us are still deeply respectful of Remembrance Day, and think of not only those that gave their lives, but those that put themselves in the position whereby loss of life was possible. The sadness of war is incalculable and should never be forgotten. As Wilfred Owen said, 'Dulce et decorum es...

Re: Level Crossing Closure

I do believe that there is a Right of Way there so if the bridge became inaccessible then there would be no chance of them being allowed to close the crossing. As had been said by others it would cut off the town to lots of people trying to get into the town so that if it does become a rea...

Re: Memories of "The Deep"

I never knew it as the Deep but definitely a music venue, one of my old bands played down there a few times in the 80's. This was when it was known as a 'bikers' pub. I think you may be getting the Saracens Head mixed up with the Brewery Tap. The saracens was a trendy place to go whilst the Brewery...

Re: The Brewery Tap is open!

Went back tonight, fantastic refurbishment, aiming for the more mature market, great selection of beers and an excellent environment to meet and chat with friends. Reopening the cellar bar as well for any older Wareites that remember the live music down there! Is it true that Mort Love is in charge...

Re: Boarded up shop in Amwell End

Does anyone know anything about the boarded up shop in Amwell End? It seems to have been like that since we've lived in Ware (over 13 years). Surely after this much time the council should be taking control of the property and making sure its refurbed rather than staying as the eyesore it has been ...
