Re: Remember to Vote on Thursday 7th May 2015...

Thanks for the comments Mancunian and Steve, very brave considering the responses from others here! Whilst I understand that many feel voting is important, I also strongly believe that people have the right *not* to vote if they so choose. Do we really want to have mandatory voting in the UK? At the...

Ever since i've lived in Ware it's always been Tory so nothing going to change, just my opinion..... I fully understand your position and I can't (and...

Re: Town Council Elections

The problem with elections is that often the people who make poor decisions either aren't elected or don't live in the area they make changes in. For example, there have been quite a number of poor planning decisions over the past few years in Ware, but the planning department are not elected. Anoth...

Re: Best optician in town/area

A third recommendation for Aves, always good and thorough. I'd say they weren't that expensive, they do have the "bargain" drawer if cost is a main consideration but they also sell designer frames if you wish. They are happy to give impartial advice and recommendations too.

Re: Waitrose

I know it's a long established rivalry and good fun, but the Waitrose move will unfortunately affect both Ware and Hertford as nobody from either town will park there and then go on to the local shops. For this reason alone this was a stupid decision by EHDC, we would all be better off without a Wai...

I believe they were re-labeled "Parking Attendants".
It gets better, they are now officially "civil enforcement officers" :D

Re: Sainsbury's Local

Let's end the rumour right now. I've just contacted the regional property acquisitions team at J Sainsbury Plc. "I really do wonder where or who starts these things. Sainsbury is legally committed to this project and we are just waiting for the developer to hand the site over to us which shoul...

Re: General Election Hustings 24th April Ware Drill Hall

One person's "necessary development" is another person's "over-development". I don't think I can agree that it's subjective is all cases. Sure, there is a degree of that, but the feedback that has been given to EHDC for the development plan has almost unanimously stated that inf...

Re: General Election Hustings 24th April Ware Drill Hall

That's all well and good that you both form the backbone of the Mark Prisk supporters. Yes, he has done some good in his constituency but after all that is his job. However, he still supports the building of 3,000 houses in Ware with little comment on what infrastructure improvements would be requir...
