Just leave ours on 20C during the day and turn it down to 15C at night, unless it's absolute artic conditions outside it never fires up at night. 8-) Turned it on last week for the first time in 6 months or so.
No timer anywhere in our system, as far as I know it is exactly as installed in 1975.
