Yes, the Watton Rd was a nightmare this morning. I went down to Chauncy at 8am, and getting back to the Wulfrath Way roundabout took 25 minutes.

As expected the A10 south was queued from before the Wodson entry slip road.
Watton road nose to tail into town.
A10 two lanes creeping along but 200 yards from road narrowing cars starting to try and merge. Last 200 yards of RH lane empty and cars entering the single lane section leaving 2 or 3 car length gaps. So actual single lane section almost traffic free and little traffic after that.

If drivers used both lanes till the merge point and merged in turn without fighting or leaving long gaps (while they use their smart phones) everyone would have made better progress.

Well that was fun. Went to tesco to get missing ingredients for son;s school cooking lesson at just after 7am. The traffic jam through town began at Charvill's roundabout. By the time we came back after a coffee and hot chocolate at Lulu's, the jam, which had never gone away, stretched out of sight beyond the Roebuck. a little later I could see from the river path that the A10 was mostly stationary south bound. Such joy.

Living in a side road that motorists are using as a cut through to miss the A10 provides hours of endless entertainment especially when two cars meet and neither will give way !

It usually starts around 7.30 am and lasts for about two hours. I presume it's the same in the evenings, but of course it's dark by then.

Thursday morning the A10 south Traffic was far better than before.
CArs using both lanes until the road narrowed and then merging successfully. Far shorter queue and much easier.

Is there any work going on? Roadworks in place but couldn't see anything happening today on or under either bridge...

I think they are still prepping the site. Porta cabins and small containers have been delivered. They are setting up a small village by the look of it.
