Yes, I am glad they have been able to find new premises, as they are great guys.

That is really good news. Although I moved to Hertford 6 years ago, I am still loyal to DJ Rover and use them when I can (2 of our cars are in manufacturers service plans and my third classic cars is niche so some of the work is done by specialists)

KateG28 if you are interested in taking your classic car up to the Croydon (just north of Royston, NOT the south London one) Classic car show I'm involved with this Sunday, PM me and I'll send you the details. Had 95 cars last year

I would normally love to but I have commitments this Sunday and have to work as well as collect son from D of E.

Also, car has a failed alternator and I cannot get a new one, or even a second hand one, so I am a bit stuck until I find a solution.

And my third excuse would be that I am not sure my car fits the profile of a classic car despite it being very rare and 27 years old. To clarify it is a Toyota MR2 Mk1 Supercharger (the supercharged version was only ever sold in Japan and the US).

I see Swains Mill is now a neat pile of rubble. So it's begun. But what happens to the old station car park on the opposite side of the road?

Way back, there was talk about re-opening the archway to the station so that people living in Crane Mead could walk to the station without having to cross Viaduct Road. But councillors on the Ware Town Planning Committee were against this because a) it would become a public urinal and b) they'd need an asbo order to stop underage drinking under the arch. This seems sad and wrong to me. And actually opening the public loos at the station would help to deal with the first problem.

The station car park isn't big enough anyway. They really should re-open the old car park as a car park.

As I recall the station toilets were done up and re-opened, they were vandalised within days. There are, of course, no public toilets in the town at all.
