h. Cancellation by the centre

ii. The centre reserves the right to refuse or cancel any booking without giving any reason, to refuse admission to the centre, to reject an application of membership and to withdraw membership.

iii. We can add to, change, withdraw or cancel facilities or activities from the centre without notice. This includes closing a centre or changes to its opening hours for safety reasons, maintenance or special events.

Response to Enoughofthat - those clauses are NOT on the paper contract that I signed. And there is nothing in my contract to refer me to the website you refer to. Therefore, my point is the terms and conditions of my contract do not allow for such closures.

The reason for the pool closing early on Monday 14th may be because Ware Swimming Club are hosting the Ware/Wulfrath exchange gala that evening and need to set up.

BTW Enoughofthat, I've just checked out the weblink you posted and that relates to specific bookings like booking for a party for example - not normal membership - which is why those clauses are not in my contract.

This is getting seriously out of control. If you have that much of an issue, take it up with the management directly, or more realistically, 'revolt' by taking your custom elsewhere. Moaning and droning on and on achieves nothing.

Hi Wareite 1969, sorry for the delay in replying - we've been away. They offered a refund for December which I declined. That might sound strange but I wanted the service in the first place, not money back and I didn't feel it was appropriate for me to accept a refund when they weren't offering it to all members.

I attended their gymnasium too and found that they would close for up to ten days during the Christmas period when customers were told to go to their Hertford facilities. This did not suit me and do after much talking to no avail with them, I left.

What if Fanshawe closed for good, with Chauncy School selling off land for housing to raise money for a new School Sports Hall, how long will it be before the School sells off Fanshawe pool and gym ?

If the new Sports Hall was provided as an extension of the pool and gym it would have been an ideal opportunity to improve these facilities and ensure a long term future for local students and the local community.

It shouldn’t be just residents off Park Road objecting to the current housing proposal, the long term impact may affect many more people !

I would think that the future of the pool has more to do with whether the company running it want to continue which has often been questioned, if they pull out the pool will have to close whatever.
If they were to try and build next to it where will the money come from - I assume the site was chosen because it has access to the road - no land sale = no money to build anything.

The district plan will have a massive impact on Ware for years to come and affect many yet you didn't even bother to read it - I suggest because the areas for development are not near you and yet you now expect others to rally round and support your opposition to these plans.
