This Saturday (20th) sees Hertford RFC's first Pre season game against Bury St. Edmunds at their home ground at the top of Hoe Lane, Ware.

There will be free admission so why not come along and have a look and maybe even a drink as the bar will be open.

For those who don't know, Hertford Rugby club run 5 senior teams and are always looking for new players of all abilities (and none!). It doesn't matter if you've never played before, every year we have newbies. Just come along to training at 7.30 on any Thursday and say you fancy a go.

Every Sunday we provide training and games for our 600 (yes six hundred) mini and youth members aged 6 to 18.

This season new players include one who was contracted to Saracens last year , another young Saracen with a great future who will be learning his trade at Hertford for a year or two, a new fullback who played England counties last year and others as well as some very useful home grown talent.

Come and have a look.

Hi Vicarage Roader

There are actually 2 games against Bury. The 2nd XV game kicks off at 2.00pm and the 1st XV game which will be on the main pitch just outside the clubhouse (and bar!) kicks off at 3.00pm.

The format is likely to be 4 X 20 minute sessions giving both sides a chance to try different players and game plans.

Bury are from the league above (National 2) so it should be a tough test.

Season start properly from beginning of September if you fancy putting your boots on!
