Stolen folding bike

Post by SailingPegasus »

Hi all - a word of warning to bike users around Ware. I had my folding bike stolen yesterday from outside Tesco in East Street. It was chained up and only left for about 20 mins. Tesco said that this was the second instance in a week. I don't hold out much hope of its recovery and the police (when I eventually got through to them) were dutifully interested. . . .

Thanks for heads up. I hope they catch the toe rags and you get your bike back.

Tempted to take my old bike down and chain it up outside.
After I've filled the saddle tube with dynamite!

Surely this is what CCTV is for?! Shouldn't be difficult for people in charge to spot the thieves (near Tesco, with a folded bike, in a 20mins time window)?

Was it a Brompton ? If so then I'm not surprised. The first thing you learn when you own one is never leave it out of your sight when out.

Had to leave my bike there today for 10 mins, remembering this post made me nervous. I imagined coming back to find my 600 quid bike gone, although not as appealing as a brompton. Why is there not cctv there?
