If the bus had not cleared the barrier and a train activated them they would come down on the bus but it may have not been the drivers fault if his/her route was blocked or the barrier had a fault.

Having driven trucks the driver should be looking beyond the vehicles in front but if they stop for no apparent reason even though their route is clear cannot be accounted for. My comment was really to not jump to conclusions as its easy to apportion blame without all the facts.

The lights flash for some time before the gates start to to come. It is very hard to get yourself into a position whee this could happen unless you drive onto the tracks when the way ahead is not clear.

The policeman on the scene I spoke to left me in no doubt the bus driver was at fault.

My elderly parents were on that bus. They were extremely shocked. In fact, they didn't know what to do so got off, brushed the broken glass off of their clothes and walked home.

Aha, *finally* worked out what that photo was meant to be telling me! Looked a number of times, and never spotted the broken window - though the framing of the photo hardly helped...

I've resized the photo so you should be able to see the whole photo now.

I noticed the pic was framed different on my ipad and laptop but fine on my desktop.
