Can anyone recommend a good plumber please? Completely blocked kitchen sink - have tried to clear it but to no avail!
Many thanks.

Re: Blockage!
Local guy Jamie of sjs plumbing. Please let me know if interested and I'll dig out phone details or have him call you!
Re: Blockage!
Bail out all the water you can.
Boil a full kettle and pour direct into the plug hole.
Wait a few minutes and then try pouring more water into the sink.
Often fat builds up and the boiling water can loosen it.

should have thought about this before, washing soda?
Re: Blockage!
Turn the mains off and take out the u bend under the sink. It might be just clogged up there and need clearing. Quick job but be prepared to have strong stomach, always make me retch that job

I find you really can't beat a big plunger.
It usually works after three or four goes. Certainly always a first port of call.

No need to turn the mains off to clean the U bend. Just don't turn the taps on!Matt40 wrote:Turn the mains off and take out the u bend under the sink. It might be just clogged up there and need clearing. Quick job but be prepared to have strong stomach, always make me retch that job

Also be careful not to do what I did once:No need to turn the mains off to clean the U bend. Just don't turn the taps on!
Put a bowl under the U bend to collect the waste water, then empty it down the sink
