Village Taverna?
Village Taverna?
Has it closed again, wasn't open on Dickensian night and looks shut up again?
Re: Village Taverna?
Has definitely looked very shut for a while now.
Re: Village Taverna?
We were in there for a meal a while ago now and as we left the local plods and a licensing officer from the council were there. They were trying to get over to the 'proprietor' that the man named on the licence had to be there whenever it was open. Think it closed shortly after that, which is a shame.
Re: Village Taverna?
That sounds a bit dodgy old bill and officer from council !
Re: Village Taverna?
well you do have to wonder, do other restaurants get inspections like that?
Re: Village Taverna?
I would have thought that all licensed premises have inspections like that every now and then. However I don't believe that a license holder has to be there as long as they have a “responsible” person. (Whatever that means).Mel wrote:well you do have to wonder, do other restaurants get inspections like that?
Re: Village Taverna?
maybe I got it wrong then and they were just asking to speak to the licence holder
Re: Village Taverna?
I really enjoyed the food and was made to feel really welcome. My friends were there the night the police and inspectors came and they were fined on the spot £1000 with a £20000 fine pending if they continued to sell liquor without said license, After that they did open a few days but have been shut since. That being said the lights were on last night?
Re: Village Taverna?
I saw today that they have a banner up saying they are reopening under new management in mid-January.
