I'm interested to know if you assumptions are true or false?
I've been using Flightradar24 for a couple of years and I don't think I've ever seen one below 2700ft
That's what I thought as its the perception of different sizes of aircraft that give the low altitude affect as in a Boeing 737 at 2700 feet will seem higher than a 747 or A380 at the same height. We only get around three or four different types of aircraft here into Nelson as we are just a regional airport although they have a million SLC's (Self Loading Cargo or passengers to you and me) so the frequency of aircraft during summer can be fairly high. I can see one end of the runway from my deck.

The only large aircraft that fly into Stansted are freight - 747, MD11 and A300.

I knew someone who worked there and he told me but that was some years ago now.

So after using the flightradar app, a boeing 747 went over Ware this afternoon. It looked low but was actually just shy of 3,000 ft.

I cannot say you'll not find any aircraft below the required height but it should be a rarity due to the monitoring of pilots and aircraft and aircraft size can create the illusion of being low.
