I think google street view is misbehaving or I'm going mad but this was never here?

Nope I cannot recall that either!

It's really strange. It's only one of the current google street view angles. It looks familiar but it's just not the old roebuck hotel is it?

You're right - it is the Roebuck Hotel. Just looked on Google street view. If you follow up Baldock Street/Wadesmill road, the images are dated June 2017 and show the nearly completed care home. But if you move the viewpoint to the end of The Bourne you get older images from October 2010 (when October 30th fell on a Saturday as shown on the banner)

But that house on the right of the picture isn't the Roebuck is it? The Roebuck was a flat squarish building not a house from memory!

In the view from Gladstone Road (behind the hotel) you can see the older building next to the 'modern' red brick hotel rooms.

I think my mind is playing tricks with me. The front looked like this though which is how I remember it. I don't remember the house being visible at the front.

Its a shame that on Street view we cannot select the date we want to view.
