London Irish Wild Geese RFC v Hertford RFC

Post by Andy B »

This clash with top of the table, unbeaten London Irish Wild Geese was always going to be a familiar result with Hertford's away record but it must be Christmas!
The wind blew to gale force proportions and will have had an influence on the game although it was the same for both sides and depended on who dealt with it best.
Kickoff came and went and thirty five minutes passed before a score was on the board, 3 - 0 to LIWG and how it stayed for halftime.
The second half started with LIWG going over for a converted try while Hertford were down to fourteen which was not the best start to the second half after all the valiant defending of the first half. Hertford return to full strength and get back into the game with a converted try 10 - 7 then with five minutes to go Hertford take the lead with an unconverted try and hold on for a 10 - 12 win. Hertford remain in sixth place but have effectively knocked LIWG off the top of the table as they are now second so lets hope the away bogey man has left the club!

A home game next week, the last for 2016, with Chichester RFC visiting Hoe Lane. Kickoff 3 pm.
