Report up in the Mercury.
https://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/ ... rs-1498449

Phyllis Ballam, David Oldridge, Roz Standley, Joanne Belsey, apologised for absence.

- Dec. Big meeting with extended resident's protests
- Jan. No meeting
- Feb. Mayor Curtis absent due to illness
- Mar. Cancelled.
- April. Annual Town Meeting so no normal business transacted
- May. 1st of the year at which mayor stands down and new mayor inaugurated.
Does make us wonder a bit about what the point is.

I just spotted this in the 2017 Annual Town Meeting minutes. "It was noted that 2016 was the first time that not all councillors attended the Annual Town Meeting", Cllr A Curtis, J Kaye, D Oldridge, M Standley and R Standley missing. This seems to be normal now as Curtis, Oldridge, O'Reilly and Taylor were missing last year (2017). And R Standley, Oldridge, Belsey and Ballam missing this year.

Usually its the Deputy Mayor gets elected.......But this year its not!

Cllr David Oldridge was elected Mayor, and the outgoing mayor Alexander Curtis was elected Deputy Mayor (which is unusual..)

There was shouting and a mass walkout! The entire evening was somewhat surreal. I expect it will be all over the Mercury shortly.

So if I understand it correctly, the councillors concerned were expecting to conduct the enquiry into their own behaviour? :o
