Event:5 Rivers Challenge trail run, Ware
Details: The 5 Rivers Challenge is a narrative trail run starting and finishing in the historic town of Ware, and offering a choice of distances: 10K, half marathon and full Marathon. Depending on distance chosen, the routes passes by 5 glorious local rivers: Rib, Beane, Mimram, Lea and Ash.

Event:Heritage Open Day
Details: Ware’s Grade I listed medieval hall, Place House Hall, will be open on Sunday 15th September from 11am – 4pm, free entrance. Refreshments will be on sale and there will be a talk on the history of Place House at 2.30pm by Miss Dorothy Abel Smith. Heritage Open Days celebrate England’s fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to places that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.

Details: Ware Wine & Beer Circle aim to encourage and improve the making of homemade wines and beers, advance the appreciation of commercial wines and beers and provide a forum for social discussion. Our regular meetings at the Southern Maltings, 8 p.m. on the third Monday of each month (some exceptions), cover wine and beer making, competitions and annual show, annual barbeque, social events, commercial tastings, talks of local interest and participation in local events.

Event:Author Talk: Sir Gawain and The Green Knight: Michael Smith
Details: Ware Author, translator, illustrator and printmaker, Michael Smith, will be discussing and signing copies of his book, a telling of Sir Gawain The Green Knight.

Enter a world of King Arthur, Sir Gawain, Castles and Ancient Sites., where Michael will be talking about and signing copies of his translation of the Middle-English masterpiece, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.

Tickets are £5 and include a glass of wine/soft drink and cheese and nibbles.
